Authentique September Color Challenge

This month the challenge was to use the colors; Almond, Pumpkin and Licorice. That just screams Halloween to me. Since I have been wanting to make a new wreath for my door I decided that is what I would create for this challenge.

I'm really glad that this year's Halloween inspired paper coordinates beautifully with last year's line since I really love some of the papers from each line. I used both the "Enchanted" and the "Glowing" lines. This cone wreath was so easy to create and took very little time.

Layout Club with Authentique

This month in layout club, our kit contained some paper from Authentique's line "LIVELY". It's beautiful paper. I hadn't already bought it because there is a lot of pink in the line and my daughter hasn't worn pink since the 2nd grade! Makes it challenging. I underestimated how versatile this paper really is. The browns and greens are beautiful shades that match so much.

Inspiration Color Challenge

Authentique August Color Challenge

here is my take on the August color challenge. I'm sure it was intended for their line "Curiosity" but I didn't have any of that so I decided to improvise. I used paper from the "Genuine" line. I also decided to use my new Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Pewter. Love this stuff...it goes on so smoothly.

Let them eat Cake!

A friend asked me to make some canvases for her daughter's room. She had found some prints that she loved online from Restoration Hardware Baby but only 1 was still available. I did my best to recreate it and I hope she likes it!

Kissing Booth "Love"

Here is a frame that I made with the Basic Grey Kissing Booth collection. I really love this line and this is not the first thing that I have made with it. It makes for beautiful home decor. Although it is somewhat "seasonal" I am pretty sure that I will leave it up all year long. I used the Tim Holtz tissue paper with the music design to make the heart and then spritzed it with some Tattered Angels. Love how that came out.

New Canvases

I am really happy with how these new canvases came out. Someone ordered them from me and at first I felt challenged by the order of "Gymnastics, music and drama" for a young man. Music did not mean that he plays an instrument and it was also supposed to be "bright". I'm pretty happy with how it came out but I especially like the Multi-Sport canvas.

Valentine's Project

It's really not the best picture but here is a banner I made using the new Crate Paper "Paper Heart" line. It's gorgeous! It's a rainy miserable day here and I just couldn't seem to get good light for the picture. I may still embellish it a little more...I'm not sure it's shiny enough.

Canvas Fun

I've really been having a lot of fun making canvases since I took a class in them. I have a lot of images that can be used and I've decided that if anyone I know would like one custom done, I'd be happy to do it. It can really be any theme..sports, whimsical, girly, macho or any color etc. It does not cost a lot to make it's just time consuming. As you can see I have already made a couple "custom" frames that are for some specific kids I know.

Bo Bunny Layout Challenge

Here is a layout I did that was inspired by a photo on the Bo Bunny Blog. You could take anything that you wanted from the original picture and I was immediately drawn to the color scheme. I just love turquoise and the first line that popped into my head was "Ad Lib". When this line came out, I immediately went to my store and bought everything they had--I was so sure I would use it up immediately but I found it harder to use than I thought. Not because I didn't love it but it was so funky and fun that I didn't' want to part with it!

Basic Grey sketch challenge

I have been waiting years to scrap this photo of Jake & I. I have always loved it. It was taken on the first day of pre-school at Christian Family Montessori. He just looks so sweet and he was a little nervous. When I saw the sketch challenge at Basic Grey I knew I wanted to use their new "Kissing Booth" line and since there is not a lot of pink and red being worn in this house I had to really think of a picture that I had that would match....so glad I remembered this one. Enjoy.
